So the other day I made my first ugly holiday sweater video. It’s called Christmas Sweater Intervention, designed as an exposee of the lifestyle. At the end of the clip, I notified the viewers to stay tuned for more episodes, which I fully intend on producing, but soon realized I was facing a serious problem.
My egg timer of a computer was first given to me from a former employee at my day job. She was off to tree plant on Vancouver Island for the summer and didn’t want to toss the thing out, so handed over to me. I quick system recovery and a couple upgrades later the old PC was running lean. Coupled with a half decent digital camera and a printer I had everything I needed to run my ugly holiday sweater business.
Now that 2011 has come and things simply must head to the next level, I have no choice but to upgrade. The old P4 took about thirty minutes to render my first ugly holiday sweater video… yawn. A sloppy 1.5GB of DDR and on board VGA get’s er done, but no where near the speed required to keep these videos going (particularly since I had to re-render FOUR times!). So in order to effeciently produce these vids I have ordered what can only be descibed as an ICBM of destruction. Toating 8GB of DDR 3 memory, quad core processing power at 3.2ghz and an 8mb FSB there will be no stopping the production of furture ugly holiday sweater videos. The place I ordered from is experiencing production delays so it won’t be ready for about a week, but that’ll give me plenty of time to meet February’s ugly holiday sweater production quota.
