Romney vs. Gingrich
Who says politics can’t be fun?
Have a look at Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich slinging mud at each other over arbitrary Christmas factoids.
At Christmas sweaters.ca, we have a lot of wondrously random ideas for Christmas sweaters. From crazy patterns to mixing fabrics, we have tried it all. But still we manage to come up with even more crazy ideas for sweaters. By far, one of the craziest is this new Romney vs. Gingrich sweater we have made in honour of the 2012 presidential elections in America and in honour of Christmas.
Both of these men were fighting to represent the Republican Party in this year’s presidential election. Mitt Romney is a well off, former governor of Massachusetts. He got around an average twenty four percent poll number while he was running, however he caused some controversy over his views on issues such as homosexuality and even more through blips and badly worded speeches and phrases that lost him a lot of respect, especially as he was mocked for it on the internet.
Newt Gingrich used to be a Speaker of the House and was one of the best known politicians in the Republican house, especially for gaining huge milestones in the house of democrats for the first time in forty years. However, he lost control of the House and had to back down due to threats made against him, losing him a good deal of respect in Washington.
This sweater shows the conflict they had for each other in their campaigns for elective. Romney is shown on the front of the sweater while Gingrich is shown on the back. Romney is seen accusing the other of ‘not believing in Christmas.’ You can see Gingrich retaliating by saying that ‘Mr. Romney opposes Santa Claus.’ Of course, these allegations were never made by either of them concerning the other, but through all the scandal and ironic happenings, it doesn’t seem all too unlikely that it would happen!
Other than the actual images of the two politicians, the sweater is a pure white colour, really capturing the image of a snowy Christmas. The Republican emblem elephant can be seen on the front and back shoulders of the sweater and there are Santa hats and American flags on the shoulders too. The front and back is littered with Christmas cheer in the form of felt reindeer, snowflakes and Christmas trees and iconic pictures of Santa. There are dozens of gems and glittery stars as well. There is a giant material Christmas tree on the back and Gingrich is seen to be wearing glittery antlers.
So, no matter who you want to see as president of America, check this sweater out and have a laugh at it first! It may even change your mind!
